The new version of the ERP directive for EU lamps.

On December 5, 2019, the European Commission announced the new ERP Regulations (EU) 2019/2020 and Energy Efficiency Labeling Regulations (EU) 2019/2015 for lighting products. The new regulations will be officially implemented on September 1 this year. For LED lighting products , must meet new energy efficiency and functional requirements and apply for new energy efficiency labels in accordance with new regulations.

The new ERP standard puts forward requirements for lighting products in the following six aspects:

The most prominent requirement for external drive power in the new version of the ERP instruction is that the standby power consumption should be less than 0.5W, and the phase shift factor DF and stricter LED light output stroboscopic PST&SVM requirements are added.

In addition, the IEC Technical Branch of the International Electrotechnical Commission released the fifth edition of the standard IEC 61000-3-2:2018, replacing the existing fourth edition of IEC 61000-3-2:2014 "Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Part 3-2: Limits - Limits for harmonic current emissions (equipment input current ≤ 16 A per phase)". The new version of the standard specifically indicates that the rated power of LED desk lamps, LED bulbs, LED tubes and other lighting products within the range of 5W≤P≤25W needs to increase the requirement for harmonic current testing.
